David Guerrier // Portraits

Portraits of David Guerrier, trumpeter and esteemed Schagerl Artist, taken in a session that aimed to reflect his musical identity and presence.

David Guerrier joined the Berliner Philharmoniker as Principal Trumpet in January 2024.
He began trumpet studies at age seven and soon distinguished himself in major competitions, winning first prizes at the Maurice André International Trumpet Competition and the ARD International Music Competition.

Guerrier’s musical path is uniquely versatile: after early success on trumpet, he also studied and performed on the horn, serving as principal horn with the Orchestre National de France (2004-2009) and later with the Luxembourg Philharmonic Orchestra (2009-2010).
He teaches at the CNSM Lyon and continues to perform as soloist and chamber musician across Europe.

In this portrait session, I sought to capture David’s dual mastery and expressive depth — the confidence of a world-class orchestral principal, the sensitivity of a chamber musician, and the strength that lies in his long-standing relationship with Schagerl instruments.
