Lorenz Raab // Portraits

Lorenz Raab, born in 1975 in Linz, is a highly versatile Austrian trumpeter who bridges classical, jazz, avant-garde and crossover musical worlds. 
Since September 2003 he holds the position of solo trumpet at the Volksoper Wien. 
He has been a member of Pro Brass since 1999. 
His studies included training at the Trompetenakademie Bremen and at the Mozarteum Salzburg, following early training at the Vienna University of Music. 
Raab is also active as a composer, bandleader (for instance with his :xy band), and performer in projects that explore the fusion of acoustic instruments and electronic textures. 

In this shoot, I aimed to capture the duality of Lorenz’s artistry — his grounded professionalism and his adventurous musical spirit. The editorial frames bring out his persona in dramatic lighting, while the portraits highlight the more intimate side of the artist. Angelika’s styling added the finishing touch, helping to shape a coherent visual narrative in every shot.
