Piergiuseppe Doldi // Portraits

Portrait photos of Piergiuseppe Doldi, trumpet soloist and proud Schagerl Artist.

Piergiuseppe Doldi is Principal Trumpet at the Teatro la Fenice Orchestra in Venice. He graduated in 1994 from the Conservatory of Music “G. Nicolini” in Piacenza. Before securing his current role, he collaborated with major Italian orchestras such as Teatro La Scala (Milan), the Arturo Toscanini Symphony Orchestra in Parma, and I Pomeriggi Musicali in Milan.

Over his career, he has played under celebrated conductors including Daniel Barenboim, Lorin Maazel, Riccardo Muti, Daniele Gatti, Riccardo Chailly, Myung-whun Chung, and Zubin Mehta. He also frequently appears as a soloist with I Solisti Veneti under Claudio Scimone. In 2007, he won the position of Principal Trumpet at Teatro la Fenice.

Apart from concert life, Piergiuseppe is passionate about pedagogy: he gives masterclasses in many Italian musical institutions.

His instruments with Schagerl include the C-trumpet “WIEN HEAVY” (gold plated), B-trumpet “1961 B2G”, and B-trumpet “Berlin K Heavy” (gold plated).

In this portrait session, I aimed to capture both his commanding stage presence and the quiet confidence of a seasoned artist. The goal was to reflect his mastery, his musical history, and his deep bond with the instrument — a narrative of artistry in every frame.
