Selina Ott // Portraits

Once again, it was a pleasure to create new portrait photos for Selina Ott, as every year — capturing her for her upcoming international solo performances.

Selina Ott, born in 1998 in Krems, Austria, comes from a family of musicians. She began piano lessons at the age of five and switched to the trumpet one year later, studying under her father, Erich Ott.
She continued her education at the University of Music and Performing Arts Vienna and the University of Music Karlsruhe, studying with the renowned Prof. Reinhold Friedrich.

In 2018, at just 20 years old, Selina made history as the first woman ever to win the 1st Prize in Trumpet at the ARD International Music Competition in Munich — a groundbreaking achievement in the classical world.
Her debut album Trumpet Concertos, recorded with the ORF Vienna Radio Symphony Orchestra under Roberto Paternostro, earned her the Opus Klassik Award in 2021.

As a soloist, she has performed with leading orchestras including the WDR Symphony Orchestra, Deutsches Symphonie-Orchester Berlin, Czech Philharmonic, and the Budapest Festival Orchestra, among many others.
Her performances have taken her to some of the world’s most prestigious venues — from the Vienna Konzerthaus and Musikverein Wien to the Berlin Philharmonie, Concertgebouw Amsterdam, and Cologne Philharmonie.

In 2022, she completed her Master’s degree in Vienna with distinction and received the Austrian Federal Ministry of Education’s Award of Excellence.

With each photoshoot, my goal is not only to capture Selina’s elegance and charisma but also the essence of her artistry — the fusion of technical brilliance, emotional depth, and a commanding stage presence that defines her as one of today’s most inspiring trumpet soloists.
